Beautiful Beaches

Ashvem beach- Relax under the waving trees of this secluded Goan beach, swim in the warm Arabian Sea or dine at international or Indian restaurants.

Vagator was always one of the ‘hippie’ beaches and continues somewhat. It is small with just a few restaurants and shacks but has a nice chilled vibe especially at sunset.

With its golden sand and long stretch, this is the norther part of one of Goa’s most beautiful beaches, with gentle surf. It is also among its most popular, with many tourists enjoying its activities. At the Baga end you will find famed traditional seafood restaurants and other fine dining options.

To the north of Calangute and all the way to the headland where sits the many seasons enjoying the beach life. There remain quiet spots behind protected sand dunes, where the fishermen still go out and the family run establishments retain their loyal customers year after year.

TThe original hippie beach of the sixties and seventies, now Anjuna is known more for its Wednesday market, and its restaurants and beaches. The sunsets however still have that old world vibe, and the beach is dotted with shoreline shacks with great views.

Uddo Beach is Perfect Location for Sunset View near Siolim. Sea Facing Deck has amazing View where you can enjoy your evening. It’s far from the popular beaches and in one of the most demographically diverse neighbourhoods in Goa.

Heritage Places

From the 16th to the 18th centuries, when Old Goa’s population exceeded that of Lisbon or London, Goa’s former capital was considered the ‘Rome of the East’. You can still sense that grandeur as you wander what’s left of the city, with its towering churches and cathedrals and majestic convents. Its rise under the Portuguese, from 1510.

One of the few Hindu temples that survived the Portuguese rule, it was because the deity was moved to a more secure region ruled by a Hindu cheftain. A tour to the Spice Plantation in Ponda allows you to see and understand the conditions of the spices that grow on this coast, besides getting a glimpse into the traditional way of farming and harvesting.

Also called St. Catherine's Cathedral this 16th-century masterpiece took 80 long years to finish and is one of the largest churches in the world. The Cathedral attains to the west of the great square called Terreiro de Sabato and has its face turned to the east.

The Shahouri Masjid in Ponda taluka, the biggest and most famous of the mosques in Goa, was built in 1560 by Ibrahim Adilshah of Bijapur. Adjacent to the mosque is a well constructed masonry tank with small chambers with ‘meharab’ designs.

The church was constructed in 1602 by Augustinian friars who had arrived in Old Goa in 1587 and was abandoned in 1835. You can see the ruins of eight chapels, four altars and extensive convent with numerous cells here.

Shri Mahadeva Temple, Tambdi Surla is one of the oldest temples in Goa to Lord Shiva. The monument is made of basalt rocks sourced from the Deccan Plateau and adorns beautiful carvings made by skilled craftsmen of the time.

Tourist Attractions

Aguada is a Portuguese word which means “Water" so basically this Fort was renowned as the biggest water reservoir in Asia. As you will visit the campus of Aguada Fort you can easily remember the scenes by several Bollywood movies which were shot here. You can witness the endless sea, a beautiful lighthouse and an amazing fort which altogether will give you feel of a perfect landscape.

The 400 year old fort, constructed in the year 1551 happens to be one of the oldest forts in Goa. It is believed that the name of the fort was laid after three men from the Bible. Today, the fort falls under the ownership of the Goa government and finds itself on the list of Goa ancient monuments. It has been fully restored and serves as a heritage centre in the town.

Easily accessible via ferry ride from Querim, the fort is on the list of some of the famous Historical Places to Visit in Goa. The fort was constructed on the orders of Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsle, who was the king of Sawantwadi during the advent of the seventeenth century. The hilltop location of the fort gives some of the most exhilarating views of the Arabian sea from its ranks

Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is an estuarine mangrove habitat, which is declared as the bird sanctuary, and located on western tip of the Island of Chorão along the Mandovi River, Goa, in India. The sanctuary is named after Salim Ali, the eminent Indian ornithologist. the Salim Ali bird sanctuary is one of the smallest protected areas of Goa.

Regarded as one of the popular Historical Places in Goa, this fort lies 18 km ahead of Panaji. Overlooking the Sinquerim Beach, this magnificent fort used to act as a landmark for goods arriving from Europe.

Drive far to the Southern Goa, through the muddy off-track road to arrive at the edge of the Sea and get ready to witness the glory of past - Cabo de Rama fort. The fort is perched between the two famous beaches in South Goa - Cavelossim, and Agonda.
